Empowerment Through Awareness: Europa Donna Visits Our Offices
Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming Gertrude Abela, President of Europa Donna Malta, to our offices for an engaging and deeply informative session about breast cancer awareness.
Gertrude’s talk was more than a presentation — it was a conversation about knowledge, early detection, and the importance of community support. She guided us through how to check for signs of breast cancer, explaining in clear and reassuring terms what to look out for and when to seek medical advice. Her message was simple but powerful: awareness saves lives.
As she spoke, it became evident that Europa Donna’s work extends far beyond education. Gertrude highlighted the organisation’s support services for women and their families, including counselling, peer support groups, and even transport assistance — such as taxi services for Gozitan women travelling to Malta for treatment. These initiatives offer practical help and, perhaps even more importantly, emotional reassurance at a time when it’s most needed.
The discussion opened our eyes to how vital such networks are, not only for those undergoing treatment but also for those who stand beside them — family, friends, colleagues. Cancer doesn’t affect one person; it ripples through lives. And Europa Donna works tirelessly to soften that impact, turning fear into understanding and isolation into solidarity.
As a company, we believe that awareness is a shared responsibility. Hosting Gertrude and learning about Europa Donna’s mission reminded us how crucial it is to support organisations that empower individuals through knowledge and compassion.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Gertrude Abela and the entire Europa Donna team for the remarkable work they do. Their commitment to advocacy and support serves as a strong reminder that strength often begins with awareness — and that even small actions, like attending an information session or sharing what we’ve learnt, can make a lasting difference.
